Hi
There are many numbered SS daggers out there without a name to go with them.
One of my research hobbies, is collecting numbers and I have various databases of numbers in the hope that I can identify something for members in the future.
So, over the course of the days, months and years, it would be great to know what exactly is out there and has not been identified.
Let's hope we can re-tie some threads and identify a few.
By all means, just post a number, but if this is to become a thread for everyone, then posting pictures would be recommended as it make it a great reference thread for collectors and enthusiasts alike rather than just a long list of numbers.
If you post an image, can I ask that you enter a brief description in the title. This is so members can search and it will check the title headers. So it maybe 'SS Dagger - Number 74,357 and maybe add the maker to boot'
Important Note: The is no motive behind this other than to help collectors put a name to a dagger. If anyone contacts you identifying the number and asking for a fee in return for the name then please politely refuse. This is against the spirit of the forum and the whole reason behind such threads. This is all about members being helped by members
It is perfectly acceptable if you get a name from a collector and then you wish to pursue further research of that individual with a paid for research service. If you ask for opinions on which researchers can help you, Iam sure members will share their experiences and pass on names to you.
So, lets see some numbers and images of SS daggers.
