Seeing a person next to it brings home how big these actually were!

I found this pic but can't remember where. Also shows the immense size of these tanks.

It is interesting to take a closer look at the photo posted by Mike C. Look at the muddy soup in the foreground. That is the result of heavy traffic, especially by tracked vehicles. What is with the section of fence and well, who knows what, stacked against the side of the Panther? Note the tow bar in front of the panzer. It appears that it is a breakdown, not a knock-out. Does anyone else have any observations about this photo?

Well MRomanych, if you're really in Baltimore, then you're not too far away from Aberdeen Proving Grounds and the U.S. Army Ordnance Museum. They have two Panthers, the ausf "A" and the ausf "G" models. And they are big...

Bob:

Aberdeen Proving Ground is about 40 minutes from my house. I have to go up there soon - maybe within two weeks - and photograph their Brumbar for a member of another forum who has helped me out with a few things.

Any other requests? It's easy to take photos.

In 2010 it's all moving down to Fort Lee, around the Petersburg, Virginia area!
