Here is my new dagger. How can you tell if the scabbard has been re wrapped?

Does the leather of the scabbard match the leather on the grip in color and texture? Do the screws appear to have been turned? Are there no bumps, scuffs, dents to the scabbard leather? Does the seam match up?
I see from the one side view the screw on the top fitting appears to have been disturbed.

the leather of the scabbard does match the grip. The grip wire is tight and patina'd. The is one dent in the scabbard leather. The leather is in the same condition of my Helbig 1st luft. So I find it hard to believe that both were redone. since I bought them at different times from different people.
I saw that screw also, but all screws have what appears to be dirt in it so I would think that it would have been disturbed by the screw driver.

 Sounds like you have a dagger with scabbard leather in excellent condition that has been well stored and cared for. My example was not that fortunate. :glare:

here are the tips under the fittings. The one on the left is this dagger and the one on the right is my Helbig aluminum.
